Collection: Chanel Sohier

Chanel Sohier is a Sydney based painter whose work engages with dynamic representations of the Australian landscape. 

CS: "This collection of landscape artworks are an aesthetic appreciation of evanescence. Open natural spaces suggest natural processes, a language of weathering, growing, ageing and change. To capture this mutability, I aim not to depict the outward appearance of subjects but the inward feelings felt from the impressions of our environment. There is a poetry in each individual's perception and I aim to embrace this with my semi-figurative work."

Sohier holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts for the University of NSW.
