Kirsty Neilson

Kirsty Neilson is a painter who lives and works in Sydney. Primarily known as a portraitist, Neilson has also become recognised for her realist depictions that foreground social justice issues. Neilson has had a strong showing history and has been a finalist in a number of prestigious national prizes, such as, the Archibald Prize (2016, 2018, 2021), the Darling Portrait Prize (2020), and the Portia Geach Memorial Award (2021). Neilson also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Art School (2008).
