  1. The Gallerist Emerging Artist Prize 2022 (“The Prize”) is a national non-acquisitive art prize.

  2. The value of The Prize is $1,000.00 AUD.


  1. The Prize is open to Australian citizens of 12 months or more, who are over the age of 18. Finalists may be required to prove identification if requested.

  2. The Gallerist Emerging Art Prize only accepts artworks created within the last 2 years (prior to entry date).

  3. The Prize has been established for ‘Emerging Artists’. The Gallerist defines this as, a person with, equal to or less than, 10 years of professional practice in the visual arts.

  4. There are no medium specifications.


  1. All entries must be submitted via The Gallerist website by Tuesday 30 November 2022 (5:00pm AEST).

  2. A limit of 2 works per artist can be submitted.

  3. A $10.00 entry fee applies to single work submissions.

  4. The entry fee is non-refundable and contributes to administration, hosting and judging costs.

  5. It is essential that the submitted images/documentation are of adequate resolution and size to be easily viewed by the judges. Uploaded image(s) should:

    1. be saved in a .jpg or .png format (not .jpeg)

    2. not exceed 2MB per image

  1. File name must the artist’s name and title of the artwork, as listed on the entry form. e.g. Symphony In Orange_Lauren Collerson.jpg

  1. Artists consent to being added to The Gallerist’s electronic mailing list for information and updates about this, and subsequent events hosted by The Gallerist.

  1. Each artwork submission must cite the work in the following format:


Artist Name

Artwork Title (year)

Dimensions (cm) (H x W x B)


  1. The list of Finalists will be posted on The Gallerist’s social media on Tuesday 7 December, as well as on The Gallerist’s website.

  2. All finalists authorise The Gallerist formally and irrevocably, to publish their works free of copyright, totally or partly, in material related to The Prize, including on the official website and social media.


  1. The judges’ decision is final on all aspects of awarding The Prize. No correspondence or appeal with be entered into or considered.

  2. A decision by a majority of the judges will be deemed a valid and binding decision of the judges as a whole.
